Crafted Society is writing its own rules for Black Friday and the holidays

Customers do not profit from any form of discount, but will support in the form of a larger donation, to our chosen charity partner this holiday season; Dutch charity organisation Charlie Braveheart. ‘It is the season of giving, self reflection and providing a helping hand to provide a positive impact.’

From Wednesday Nov 27th through December 24th do not expect any discounts from Crafted Society. No Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Christmas steal deals. ‘Discounts do not fit with our company vision. Our prices are built in such a way that everyone receives a fair piece of the retail price. If we did offer discounts then somewhere in our supply chain someone would be short-changed. This is why we will not join this circus’, said Lise Bonnet, co-founder of Crafted Society. Together with husband Martin Johnston, the pair started their Crafted Society vision in 2016. They focused on strengthening and platforming their Italian grandmasters of limited edition leather sneakers, leather bags, small leather goods and cashmere scarves and blankets, so that more awareness is provided to the real heroes of luxury. In providing this access, the pair ensure that the hidden masters and their crafts are taken out of the shadows and placed back into the limelight to help inspire the next generations of the value of craftsmanship and excellence.

‘Transparency and exquisite craftsmanship is central to everything Crafted Society stands for which is why we will not support the actions of online discounting from overproduction.'

Our products are handmade with skills passed down from previous generations and are all limited editions, which means that our customers receive a truly unique piece. Our mission is to use luxury for good that resonates non-more-so than around the holiday season. We put people and planet before profit and applaud others who do the same.’ Said Martin Johnston

Charity Partner Holiday season 2019: Charlie Braveheart

Johnston and Bonnet normally pledge 1% of their global turnover towards a good cause. ‘In the period of the upcoming holiday season – from 27 November including 24 December – we are raising our pledge from 1% to 5%. As a conscious consumer, there is no better way to show your support of a good cause.’ The good cause we have chosen to partner with this Holiday season is Charlie Braveheart. The foundation was started by the international artist and jewellery designer Bibi Van Der Velden and was formed to remove the pain and stress that can accompany a prolonged hospital stay for sick children. Van Der Velden knows acutely from her foundation the necessity of educating the next generation of caregivers on the subject. Partnering with likeminded organizations supports our mission of using luxury for good™ and gives extra energy.’ Bonnet said.

Grandmasters

Crafted Society stands for a luxury industry, which is both inclusive and completely transparent. Transparency is a necessity to preserve the skills and the artisans themselves. All of our products are limited in production quantities and unique. ‘Our grandmasters as we call them, have invested years into training and perfecting the historic methods of creating objects of beauty and to be the best in class. Everything we create is handcrafted from high quality and sustainable raw materials and is completely sourced in Italy. ‘We provide a unique perspective on being the only luxury brand set up to highlight the actual artisans. We wanted to take a positive stand against fast-fashion and support a larger group wanting to see a more sustainable fashion industry sharing a mindset of quality over quantity.’ Johnston said.

About Crafted Society

Crafted Society is a luxury label from Amsterdam that was started by husband and wife fashion duo, Martin Johnston and Lise Bonnet. The pair started their journey in 2016 with a goal to shine a light on the unknown artisans of Italy. The brand produces in limited quantities, collections of leather sneakers, leather bags, panama hats, cashmere scarves and throws and small leather accessories. The grandmasters receive recognition for their skill and participation in the product creation process by having their name together with that of Crafted Society highlighted on the product, and on the brands website www.craftedsociety.com

Through the brand’s mission of using luxury for good™ they transparently communicate all of the artisans within their supply chain, they name and platform all of the sources of their sustainable materials and they pledge 1% of their global sales back towards charity partners who share the same passion for providing education to the next generations.
